When You Need Painting Services in San Jose

San Jose's dry season runs April through October. This gives paint lots of time to dry right. But that same sun bakes old stucco in Evergreen and Almaden Valley. This makes it crack and fade fast. Inside homes, popcorn ceilings in older houses need special care first. We've seen folks in Willow Glen try to patch peeling paint on their own. Then they call us a year later for a full repaint. Waiting just means more work and more cost later. Good paint does more than look nice. It protects your siding and trim from water damage. This Old House's guide to interior paint [1] covers the basics. We talk about these same things during free visits.

Common Jobs

Peeling Outside Paint

Sun and winter rain wear down stucco and trim. We scrape, prime, and repaint so it holds up.

Fresh Inside Colors

Selling your home or just tired of the old color? We paint clean, even coats room by room.

Popcorn Ceiling Removal

This is common in older San Jose homes. We take it off and leave a smooth ceiling, ready for paint.

Wall Repair Before Paint

Cracks and holes show through fresh paint. We patch and sand first, before any paint touches the wall.

Business Repaints

Offices and stores need fast work. We plan around your business hours.

Deck Staining

San Jose sun dries out wood decks fast. We stain and seal so they last through the dry season.

I rarely leave reviews, but the team at Zubr Construction did such an amazing job that I couldn't not write one.
They replaced all of our old carpet with stunning new laminate floors and painted the interior walls. The transformation is incredible! Their craftsmanship and attention to detail were top-notch, and they left the house spotless.
If you need flooring or painting, stop looking and call these guys. Highly recommended!

We had our full bathroom and powder room renovated, and two months later, I still love the result every single time I walk in.
The main bathroom was a complete gut job, including repairing walls damaged from old leaks. We went through a couple of unexpected hustles, but it was resolved and the timing re-negotiated. The team handled every challenge smoothly, they swapped out the old valve and managed to squeeze a pretty large bathtub through a tight entryway without a scratch.
The tilework around the tub and on the floor looks amazing. Our new vanity turned out to be a bit longer than expected, but they got it fitted into the space perfectly. They also installed new toilets, towel bars, and backlit mirrors in both rooms.
I’d definitely hire them again!

Common Questions

Painting Services Questions

Here's what San Jose homeowners often ask us before they book a job.

  • How much does painting cost in San Jose?

Most jobs cost between $400 and $8,000. It depends on size and surface shape. One room costs less than a full outside repaint. We give you a real number after a free visit, not a guess.

  • How long does a painting job take?

One room usually takes one day. A full outside repaint can take three to five days. It depends on weather and how much prep it needs. We give you a timeline before we start.

  • Should I paint my house myself or hire a pro?

DIY works for small touch ups. But full rooms and outsides are harder than they look. Uneven coats and missed spots show up fast. We bring the right tools to get it right the first time.

  • How often should outside paint be redone?

Most San Jose homes need a repaint every seven to ten years. Homes near the hills or with lots of sun may need it sooner. Inside paint usually lasts longer, about ten to fifteen years.

  • How fast can you start a painting job?

We can often set up a visit within the week. Dry season from spring through fall is our busiest time. So book early if you can. Inside jobs usually start sooner than outside ones.

  • What are signs my house needs new paint?

Look for peeling, bubbles, or chalky spots on walls. Cracked caulking near windows and trim is another sign. Inside, scuffed walls or faded color near windows mean it's time.

  • Do you remove popcorn ceilings before painting?

Yes, we take off popcorn ceilings and smooth them before painting. This is common in older San Jose homes. We handle the mess so you don't have to.
